If we take a brief look about solar power history, we might be surprised that over centuries ago, Archimedes created a shield to collect sunlight. In 1866, Auguste Mouchout created a parabolic as the component of his solar engine. From the history, we will find that solar power is definitely not a new technology. Today’s engineers are even uses the Archimedes and Mounchout’s technique to collect sunlight. With so many development and variation, solar technology and cost can be varying.

 

On collecting sunlight, both CSP and photovoltaic methods use mirrors, lenses, or parabolic. The sunlight is the source of power plant.  Mouchout can be said as the pioneer of solar power. His invention on 1800’s becomes the base of today’s solar technology and cost. On 1930’s Uni Soviet developed solar power that able to be a power for one horse power engine. In United State, it uses as one element of energy resource for space technology. Viking, Cassini, and Gallileo are the technological devices that use solar power technology.  

With the solar technology and cost usage that have been practiced as the element of space missions, then solar technology will be able to be the civilian’s energy resource. Some house even has used the simplest solar technology for their daily usages.
